Butterfly 05:43
Just another fool climbing a rainbow Just another dream weaver spinning a web (of illusion) Just another juggler holding the Earth, Moon and Sun Just another manchild playing until he's dead And just like that butterfly I'm floating free Just like that butterfly I'm discovering what's inside of me Just like the sunshine sleeping on the grass Just like the moonlight swimming in the sea Just like the raindrops laughing from the sky Just like the wind playing the leaves on the trees And just like that butterfly I'm floating free Just like that butterfly I'm discovering what I could be Just like a fisherman in the desert Just like a scarecrow watching over a barren field Just like the lark without a song for the rising sun So I was until I set down my shield And just like that butterfly I'm floating free Just like that butterfly I'm discovering what it's like to have wings

There's a monkey in a tree swinging about so carefree He looks down from his tree to see a man in a suit that's me He has no regret as he asks me what it's like to be someone's pet He has no confusion he knows the fool is me not him And he sings down to me as he swings he sings Sha la la la la la la la la la my life away la la la Sha la la la la la la la la la today hey, hey, hey There's a clown in a circus tent on a mute parrot his last dollar he just spent His wife gave him the boot 'cause he can't pay the rent I say to him: “ Man your life is bent” He said: “Don't ever forget this is a play, “no use letting yesterday and tomorrow ruin today “you with your ideals, your pride and fine clothes – it's you who's wearing the clown's nose” And then he came up to me and he shook my hand and he smiled and he danced and he sang: Sha la la la la la la la la la my life away la la la Sha la la la la la la la la la today hey, hey, hey There's a king on a golden throne with knights, nobles, servants yeah, he's alone The smile on his face there has been sewn happiness he can't own In a craze he takes off his crown puts it on his jester and gets down Gives the queen, his wife, a sideways glance Then he starts to dance Singing no more kingdoms for me I've got to be free Sha la la la la la la la la la my life away la la la Sha la la la la la la la la la today hey, hey, hey

Open up the window Open up the window Please open up the window It's raining outside I'm standing out here in it getting wet You're sitting there feeling dry But the rain feels alright from here It's washing away my doubts and my fears Please open up the window It's raining outside Please open up the window It's raining outside I'm not askin' to come in I'm askin' you to come out from your hidin' You see if you wait for the sun's shining You might wait a lifetime and You who cry for the world Don't you see the world's cryin' for you And when you stare out from the window It can all seem so very blue Please open up the window It's raining outside (interlude) The weatherman said today Don't leave home without an umbrella But he's sitting there in his dark studio I wouldn't let him tell ya Open up the window Leave your umbrella behind Come on and stomp in the puddles Come on out and feel how the rain shines Please open up the window It's raining outside I'm not askin' to come in I'm askin' you to come out from your hidin' You see if you wait for the sun's shining You might wait a lifetime and You who cry for the world Don't you see that the world's cryin' for you When you just sit there looking out of your window It can all seem so very blue Please open up the window Come on out inside Leave the cold gray behind you Feel how the rain shines Feel how the rain shines Please open up the window

Black cloud is your sunshine Laughter is your pain Streetlights are your forest Television is your ball and chain Your volcano has retched upon my world Concrete and asphalt burying the Earth Mr. Bluebird won't you fly me away This vision I see is too much for me today I know these people are really not to blame For their love is like a frightened child that's hiding from an invisible rain The sun in your eyes is setting Leaving mine frightened in the dark You close the door between us And so I close my heart Our love was like a poor child Begging at the gate But the king would not let us in And our hunger wouldn't wait Rocket now Mr. Bluebird Won't you take me beyond the stars To the place where she waits with open arms I know my sweet lady was really not to blame For the love she wanted to give me was denied to me by an invisible rain (interlude) And so I'm wandering Down the open road Where my feet will take me I don't really know Maybe I'll find out When I reach the end My ever wondering mind Will have to wait 'til then Mr. Bluebird won't you sing me a song I'll follow your voice 'til I end up where I belong I know my lonely old self is really not to blame For the restlessness that's inside me I could never tame So I'm caught in an invisible rain...

Rabbits Turn 05:59
All of my rabbits turn from white to blue Just as all of my habits have led me to you You look for a reason you look for a sign But the tracks criss-cross there's no straight line to find I've got my ear to the ground listening for the sound (of them coming to take me) I've got my sight to the skies waiting for the clouds to water my eyes All of my rabbits turn from white to red Just as all of my habits have been overfed It's a chance mistaken but it's the choice I've made Now I'm trying to awaken the last of my dreams left to save I've got my hands tied to keep them from opening wide I've got my feet – they're turned from the door yet here I am still walking backwards trying to find more All of my rabbits turn from white to black Just as all of my habits have lost me time that can't be gotten back The carriage is waiting for me on the wooded knoll I go and climb in Pass through the gate and down into the hole I've got my mind locked in a box I take it out on Thursdays to go for short walks I've got my heart locked in a drawer I only let it out when the rain starts to pour All of my rabbits turn from white to gold One karat for each of my possibilities that I've sold
