Written in 1997 in Turkmenistan. Living right on the edge of town, J spent long hours gazing across the Karakum Desert, strumming his guitar. This particular song was an accident; J had forgotten his guitar was in the alternate tuning needed to play Jimmy Page's “Black Mountain Side”. When he strummed the opening chord (to what would become this song “Kok”) he was expecting one sound but got something completely different. He allowed that “completely different” to lead him down a path he'd never been down before.
