Written during J's travels to India in 1996. The first part of the song hearkens to the peace of Dharamsala, that Himalayan town tucked amidst terraced rice-paddies and forest. This is where the Dalai Lama has made his home in exile and Buddhist monks are there in great number – as are the motley crew of Bohemian tourists from across the globe. The second part of this song recalls the unexpected joy of their company and the good times had passing the guitar around, filling the hills with song.
